Isioma Sybil Nwosu’s achievement is nothing short of phenomenal — graduating with a CGPA of 4.93 in Biochemistry is no small feat. It’s great to see academic excellence being rewarded so tangibly. A ₦10 million gift from Governor Sanwo-Olu not only celebrates her hard work but also sends a strong message that excellence in education deserves national recognition just as much as fame in sports or entertainment.

Also, the broader efforts the Lagos State government is making — like investing in infrastructure, launching initiatives like Job Initiative Lagos, and ensuring the accreditation of almost all courses — show a commitment to long-term impact. Plus, having international students now enrolled in the postgraduate programmes at LASU’s Africa Centre of Excellence is a major step toward global relevance.

And that graduating class size — nearly 12,000 students! That’s a powerful reflection of the university’s growth and reach.

Out of curiosity, do you have a personal connection to LASU or just following educational developments in Lagos?
