Air Peace has reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety over profit or punctuality, stating clearly that it will continue to delay or cancel flights if safety standards are not fully met. The airline made this statement following recent passenger frustrations over disrupted schedules. It cited factors such as weather, technical issues, and specific incidents like a bird strike in Enugu that damaged an engine, resulting in cascading delays due to the aircraft being grounded.
Importantly, Air Peace clarified that fleet size is not the cause of recent disruptions, emphasizing that they have enough aircraft, and the issue is strictly related to safety-driven operational decisions. They also thanked the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for encouraging improvements and maintaining oversight on safety compliance.
