Terry Apala, the Nigerian musician, has been remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre following a court order from Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos. He was arraigned on a one-count charge for allegedly trampling on Naira notes at a social event—an act deemed illegal under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge. While his legal team applied for bail, citing his voluntary return from the UK and cooperation with the EFCC, the judge denied the request for temporary release. The court scheduled May 5, 2025, to hear the full bail application.
