Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, recently revealed during a TikTok live session that he paid a pathologist N16 million for his son’s second autopsy. He further disclosed that an additional N2 million was spent on related expenses. Aloba challenged any denial of his claims, stating, “If the pathologist can come out to deny my claim, then don’t believe me again.” He emphasized that while some reports suggested he paid N12 million, he maintained that the actual amount was N16 million.Mohbad's father narrates how his life got better after son's death - Tribune Online

This revelation comes after the initial autopsy conducted by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) was deemed inconclusive due to factors like body decomposition and potential medication reactions. In response, the Aloba family sought permission for an independent autopsy. In June 2024, a Coroner Court in Ikorodu granted the family authorization to conduct a second autopsy and toxicology test, with all associated costs to be borne by them .

The family’s legal team has expressed dissatisfaction with the initial findings and has called for a comprehensive review of the procedures and protocols followed during the toxicology testing. They have also urged the involvement of independent international forensic experts to oversee and validate the re-examination process .

As of now, the cause of Mohbad’s death remains undetermined, and the Aloba family continues to seek clarity and justice.
