Wilfred Ndidi Available for £9m Following Leicester Relegation

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could be on the move this summer, with a £9 million release clause in his contract now active following the club’s confirmed relegation to the Championship.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international saw his clause triggered after the Foxes’ 1-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend, which sealed their drop with five games still to play. Ndidi has since featured in the club’s 3-0 loss to Wolves and is reportedly among several players weighing their options ahead of a potential summer exit.

While release clauses are rare at Leicester, Ndidi’s inclusion in the last contract—signed after he attracted free-transfer interest from Marseille and Everton—reflects his value and the interest he continues to draw from top-tier clubs.

Having joined from Genk for £17 million in 2017, Ndidi has been a cornerstone of the Leicester midfield, amassing silverware including the FA Cup and last season’s Championship title. He has made 27 appearances across competitions this season.

Leicester will also bid farewell to club legend Jamie Vardy, who departs after 13 seasons, along with goalkeepers Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, both out of contract.
