Troops in Katsina State have successfully repelled a bandit attack in Mahuta Village, Dandume Local Government Area, and rescued a prominent local judge, Mr. Rabiu Tukur. The bandits had stormed the village late on Tuesday night, abducting six residents, including Judge Tukur, who is a 49-year-old judge at the Lower Sharia Court in Dandume.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the troops engaged in a fierce confrontation with the bandits, successfully rescuing Judge Tukur unharmed. However, the other five captives are still being held, and efforts to locate and rescue them are ongoing. The situation continues to highlight the persistent security challenges posed by bandits in northern Nigeria.
